The SMARTFIND G8 PLUS RLS EPIRB includes an AIS locating signal and an infrared (night-vision) optical signal to aid in the detection of survivors in low-light conditions. Plus, the addition of Return Link Service (RLS) capability allows two-way communication, specifically the receipt of a reassurance signal confirming professional rescue services have received the distress signal and the user’s location is known.

SMARTFIND G8 PLUS RLS EPIRB has Return Link Service (RLS) capability. The Return Link Service allows two-way communication for the first time. SMARTFIND G8 PLUS RLS EPIRBs receive a reassurance signal in the form of a blue light, indicating the distress signal has been received and that the user’s location is known by the professional rescue service.

This rugged, multi-GNSS 406MHz Satellite EPIRB has both GPS and Galileo receivers, a unique inbuilt AIS, and is optimized for the new MEOSAR system and RLS capability. Also, this EPIRB is supplied inside a float-free auto-housing that automatically deploys and activates when in contact with water (although it can also be manually activated).
