Why a LaRue-Specific Cut Matters

The LaRue MBT-2S has earned its reputation as the two-stage trigger that goes toe-to-toe with Geissele at a fraction of the price: every major component machined from solid S7 tool steel plates — no MIM parts — breaking at a glass-smooth 4.5 lbs (2.5 lb first stage, 2 lb second), with a heavy spring included for a 6 lb duty setup. It's one of the most-installed precision triggers in the AR world, and it's built in Texas, like this Kabuto.

Here's the problem it created: generic Kabuto housings are shaped around mil-spec fire control groups. Drop one over an MBT's machined plate profile and you're into shimming, sanding, and hoping. The LaRue Cut Kabuto ends that — the underside of the housing is machined to the MBT's actual geometry, so engagement is right by design, not by fitment session.
